- Overview
Audience Profile
This course is designed for individuals that are required to meet their baseline certification compliance and pass the CASP (CAS-004) exam.
Course Purpose
The purpose of this course is to ensure that every attendee is adequately prepared for the CASP (CAS-004) certification exam.
Procedures
Learners must be in a validated Cybersecurity position to request Certification Training and Testing classes. These Leidos Program classes are open enrollment classes designed to assist learners with their preparation for Cybersecurity certification exams as mandated by DoDD 8570.1 and AR 25-2.
Nominations will be performed by the Cybersecurity Training and Governance Branch and will be based on DoDD 8570.1 certification requirements, position validation, and signed appointment orders.
Qualified learners will be allowed to attend the CompTIA CASP training (Part I Blitz & Part II End Game) to prepare for and take the certification exam on the last day of Part II.
Learners should also be aware that voucher funding for this program is limited to Government Service and Active Duty Military only.
Procedure for Position Validation and Certification Training
- Identify your Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
- Work with your ISSM to be assigned to a validated CS position in the Army Training and Certification Tracking System (ATCTS)
- Obtain signed copy of appointment orders for your validated position. Appointment orders must be completed using the appropriate template and loaded into your ATCTS account. Appointment order templates are available for download here
- Update Leidos personal profile:
- DEROS
- Email address
- Phone number
- Unit
- Branch of Service (employee type)
- ISSM/Supervisor
- Complete all pre-requisites
- Request specific certification training as eligible for your validated position
- Await enrollment by the Leidos Site Coordinator after verification of ISSM approval and completion of pre-requisite requirements
- Attend training
- Pass CompTIA CASP (CAS-004) certification exam
Cybersecurity Managers and Commanders will be notified regarding learners’ progress; specifically, class completion and their exam. Only one certification exam voucher will be issued to each student, so we recommend that you use it wisely. Learners should communicate with their individual units regarding reimbursement for any subsequent exams.
CASP Testing and Exam Vouchers
Any student scoring an average 75% or better on the CASP Assessment exams will receive a voucher to take the official CASP CompTIA Certification Exam (submitted through their ATCTS account) on day 5. The examination is delivered virtually via Pearson VUE and exam must be scheduled with the Leidos site on day five of the Part II End Game. It is desired that all learners take Parts I & II in order to increase their chances of success in passing the CASP certification exam. Testing will be available only on scheduled dates. ISSM’s/Commanders will be notified of any student who does not complete the exam within the prescribed time period, end of second week of training.
End of Class Assessment
At the end of class, an assessment mock exam will be administered that gives the student a good indication of how they would score on the actual CASP (CAS-004) certification exam. Even if the student achieves a passing score on the assessment mock exam, it does not guarantee he/she will pass the CASP (CAS-004) certification exam. This is why we highly recommend all participants in the Part 1 Blitz course also enroll in the Part 2 End Game course.
