This course is designed for IT professionals who aspire to apply critical thinking and judgment across a broad spectrum of security disciplines to propose and implement sustainable security solutions that map to organizational strategies. The course is aimed at helping learners prepare for the Security+ (SY0-601) certification exam.

Audience Profile

This course is for individuals that are required to meet their baseline certification compliance for an IAT Level II.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to ensure that every attendee is adequately prepared for the Security+ (SY0-601) certification exam.

Procedures

Learners must be in a validated Cybersecurity position to request Certification Training and Testing classes. These Leidos Program classes are open enrollment classes designed to assist learners with their preparation for Cybersecurity certification exams as mandated by DoDD8570.1 and AR 25-2.

Nominations will be performed by the Cybersecurity Training and Governance Branch and will be based on DoDD 8570.1 certification requirements, position validation, and signed appointment orders.

Qualified learners will be allowed to attend the CompTIA Security+ training (Part I Blitz & Part II End Game) to prepare for and take the certification exam on the last day of Part II. Learners should also be aware that voucher funding for this program is limited to Government Service and Active Duty Military only.

Procedure for Position Validation and Certification Training

  1. Identify your Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  2. Work with your ISSM to be assigned to a validated CS position in the Army Training and Certification Tracking System.
